Choose kits and tools without a fake top-10

Constraints first: space, time, and species. We teach roles — ready-to-fruit kit, fine mist, humidity tent — not “we tested twelve boxes.” We may earn a commission if you buy through links on this site, at no extra cost to you.

The logic of selection

Radical honesty: some homes and schedules won’t support a kit yet. Follow constraints so you don’t buy hope in a box.

First time?
Choose a ready-to-fruit (RTF) kit. Prioritize oyster — most forgiving for a kitchen counter.
Countertop only?
Pick a small footprint and plan humidity. Open air dries blocks fast — fine mist matters more than kit size.
Can't mist often?
Be honest about care. A humidity tent can help in dry rooms — but consistency still matters. If you can’t tend it, wait to start.
Want DIY bigger?
Master a kit first, then grow bags. Skipping fundamentals raises contamination risk.

Full choosing guide

Bought it but it’s not working?

Don’t buy more gear first. Match the symptom — then decide keep, isolate, or toss.

All problem guides

No empty “diagnostic AI” on this site yet — Problems guides are the path.

After you decide

Essentials is for choosing. Execution lives in Start and Methods.

Coming later

Launch covers kit choice and humidity roles. Deeper DIY gear stays out of the main path.

Still unsure?

Start with the choosing guide or humidity tools. We don’t run a live “concierge” or chat grower service — constraints and manuals do the work.
